New York magazine recently reported that Apple and Google have signed a deal to launch a smart home hub in the United States.
iOgear will allow customers to access and control the home’s digital and home entertainment content through a smartphone.
It will be integrated into smart lighting systems and smart appliances.
“iOgears are a smart TV set that connects to your home via an iPhone and Android smartphone.
iOGs are smart smart TVs that will let you control your smart home, smart lighting, and smart lighting control via an iOG device,” said Jason Soh, president of iOgs and a senior vice president at Apple and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
“We’ve spent a lot of time developing iOggs to be the smart home of the future.”
The news comes as Apple is rumored to be working on a smart-home hub, and a similar hub has already been announced by LG.
IPhone and Android smart TVs have been available for more than a decade, but they were always limited to smart lighting devices.
Apple is expected to launch the iOgi hub on November 13, and the LG iOi Hub on November 16.
LG’s hub is said to work with existing smart lighting hubs, which will make it easier for consumers to connect their home’s lighting to a single device.
The LG hub will also be able to monitor your lighting via a remote control.
